2 min readTổng Thư ký Liên Hợp Quốc Antonio Guterres đã đến hai thánh đường nơi xảy ra thảm kịch xả súng làm chết 51 người tại New Zealand.
Ông Guterres đã dành 30 phút tại thánh đường Al Noor ở Christchurch để trò chuyện với các quản lý và những người sống sót sau thảm kịch.

Guterres sau đó đến thăm thánh đường Linwood, nơi ông đặt vòng hoa tưởng niệm và gặp gỡ những người sống sót trong đó có Abdul Aziz, người được coi là anh hùng vì đã đuổi theo tay súng và ném đồ lại vào tay súng này. Aziz cho biết rất vinh hạnh khi được gặp lãnh đạo Liên Hợp Quốc.
Guterres cũng nhân chuyến đi này tham dự một sự kiện về khí hậu khi đến thăm một số quốc gia Nam Thái Bình Dương để nhấn mạnh vấn đề biến đổi khí hậu. Chuyến đi diễn ra trước khi bắt đầu Hội nghị thượng đỉnh về biến đổi khí hậu dự kiến vào tháng 9 tại New York.
