Toàn cầu 18.000 người chết một ngày, biến thể corona ở Anh lan 70 nước

Theo hãng tin AFP, các số liệu thống kê chính thức cho thấy trong ngày 26-1, toàn thế giới có 18.109 người chết vì virus corona.
Trước đó, trong tuần từ 20-26 tháng 1, toàn thế giới có 101.366 người chết vì COVID-19, tương đương 14.000 người chết mỗi ngày. Đó cũng là tuần tồi tệ nhất của thế giới kể từ khi dịch bệnh bùng lên tại Trung Quốc cuối năm 2019.
Đáng lo ngại hơn khi tỉ lệ người chết theo ngày trên toàn thế giới đã tăng dần trong những tháng qua.
Cho tới cuối tháng 11 năm ngoái, thế giới đã vượt qua mốc 10.000 người chết vì COVID-19 mỗi ngày.
Con số người chết trung bình mỗi ngày của thế giới tiếp tục tăng lên 11.000 vào giữa tháng 12, tăng tiếp lên 12.000 ngày 8-1 và tăng tiếp lên 13.000 chỉ ba ngày sau đó. Và tới 26-1 là 18.000.
Trong tuần qua, 101.000 người đã chết vì COVID-19 chỉ ở 5 quốc gia. Đứng đầu danh sách này là Mỹ với 23.675 người chết trong tuần đó, nâng tổng số người chết của Mỹ lên 425.227 người. Bốn nước còn lại là Mexico, Anh, Brazil và Đức.
Các thị trường chứng khoán toàn cầu trong ngày 27-1 đều đã giảm điểm mạnh do giới đầu tư lo ngại về ảnh hưởng của đại dịch COVID-19 và có vẻ thị trường cũng đang chờ đợi những quyết sách rõ ràng hơn, cụ thể là việc triển khai gói kích thích mới, của chính phủ Mỹ.
