Sau nhiều năm chờ đợi, vợ chồng cô vui mừng có con đầu lòng vào năm Kỷ Hợi và đặt tên thân mật là Ủn. Nhiều sao Việt như Đoan Trang, Minh Thư, Ngọc Lan, Võ Hạ Trâm, Bá Thắng, Đông Quân… chúc mừng ca sĩ.
Thanh Ngọc sinh con trai đầu lòng vào tháng 6 nhưng giữ kín tin vui. Trước đó, cô từng cho biết trên truyền thông nỗi bế tắc vì chưa thể sinh con. Nhờ chồng động viên tinh thần, cô dần vượt qua áp lực.
Thanh Ngọc sinh năm 1983, từng là một trong những gương mặt nổi tiếng của Nhà thiếu nhi TP HCM. Năm 1998, cô gia nhập nhóm Mắt Ngọc cùng Duy Uyên, Ngô Quỳnh Anh, Thuý Nga. Thanh Ngọc hoạt động trong nhóm đến năm 2004 thì tách ra solo. Năm 2005, cô đoạt giải nhì cuộc thi Tiếng hát Truyền hình TP HCM. Từ khi lập gia đình, cô vắng bóng trên các sân khấu.
