Vụ va chạm giao thông khiến Tshamala chấn thương nghiêm trọng. Anh được đưa đi cấp cứu tại bệnh viện Chợ Rẫy (TPHCM). Hiện, cầu thủ này vẫn cần được chăm sóc đặc biệt.
Tshamala Kanbanga gia nhập giải V-League năm 2004, anh từng vô địch giải đấu này trong màu áo CLB bóng đá Đồng Tâm Long An của ông bầu Võ Quốc Thắng vào năm 2006.
Giã từ sân cỏ chuyên nghiệp năm 2012, tiền đạo sinh năm 1984 này sau đó không về nước mà ở lại Long An. Anh kiếm sống bằng nghề dạy đá bóng ở các lớp bóng đá cộng đồng, thỉnh thoảng làm thêm nghề phụ hồ.
Khi còn thi đấu đỉnh cao, Tshamala là một trong những tiền đạo ngoại hàng đầu của giải V-League. Anh hợp cùng anh em Carlos Rodriguez và Antonio Rodriguez (người Brazil), tạo nên hàng tấn công cực mạnh cho Đồng Tâm Long An ở thời điểm cách nay hơn chục năm.
Ngoài ngôi vô địch V-League 2006, cầu thủ này còn hai lần giành vị trí Á quân giải vô địch bóng đá Việt Nam, vào các năm 2007 và 2008, cũng trong màu áo đội bóng của bầu Thắng.
