11h trưa nay 24-5, Đài khí tượng thủy văn Nam Bộ và Tây Nguyên cho biết qua theo dõi trên ảnh mây vệ tinh, ra đa thời tiết, định vị sét cho thấy mây dông đang phát triển gây mưa rào đến mưa to và kèm theo dông, sét trên khu vực các tỉnh: Trà Vinh (Duyên Hải, thị xã Duyên Hải, Trà Cú, Càng Long, Châu Thành, TP Trà Vinh), tỉnh Bến Tre (Thạnh Phú, Mỏ Cày Nam, Ba Tri, Giồng Trôm, Bình Đại, Mỏ Cày Bắc, Chợ Lách, TP Bến Tre, Châu Thành).

Đến 3 giờ tới, mây dông tiếp tục phát triển và gây mưa rào kèm theo dông, sét cho các khu vực kể trên. Sau đó mây dông xu hướng mở rộng và lan sang các khu vực lân cận khác. Lượng mưa phổ biến 10-50mm, có nơi trên 60mm.
Trong cơn dông đề phòng lốc, sét, mưa đá, gió giật mạnh cấp 5-8 (8-21m/s), mưa lớn gây ngập úng cục bộ.
Trung tâm Dự báo khí tượng thủy văn quốc gia cũng cảnh báo chiều và tối 24-5, Tây Nguyên và Nam Bộ mưa vừa và rải rác có dông, có nơi mưa to đến rất to. Lượng mưa 20-40mm, cục bộ có nơi trên 70mm.
Cảnh báo nguy cơ mưa cục bộ cường suất lớn >60mm/3 giờ.
Cơ quan khí tượng cho biết đợt mưa có thể xảy ra không đồng đều trên các địa phương. Ngay trong một tỉnh cũng có thể nơi mưa to, nhưng có nơi chỉ mưa rào lướt qua.
Nhiều nơi mưa to từ hôm qua đến sáng nay
Số liệu đo được ghi nhận từ hôm qua đến 7h sáng nay nhiều nơi ở Nam Bộ có mưa to.
Lượng mưa tại Bù Nho (Bình Phước) đạt 63,8mm, Đăk Lua (Đồng Nai) 50,8mm, Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu 34,6mm.
Tại TP.HCM nhiều nơi mưa 30-40mm.
Các tỉnh miền Tây, đặc biệt bán đảo Cà Mau mưa nhiều như Vĩnh Điền (Kiên Giang) 88,2mm, Phú Tân (Cà Mau) 85,8mm.
