Barca hớ nặng vụ Suarez

Điều này khiến khoản tiền mà Barca thu về từ vụ bán tiền đạo người Uruguay trở nên vô nghĩa. Hè 2020, Barca bán Suarez cho Atletico với giá đúng 6 triệu euro. Vì vẫn phải trả lương cho anh, Barca coi như không thu được gì khi dứt khoát đẩy chân sút kỳ cựu này khỏi Camp Nou.
Chủ tịch Barca khi ấy, ông Josep Bartomeu, thậm chí còn cố thuyết phục các CĐV rằng không có chuyện họ “tặng” Suarez cho Atletico. Nhưng với thông tin mà tờ Marca vừa tìm hiểu và công bố, có vẻ như Barca đã tăng cường sức mạnh cho đối thủ cạnh tranh trực tiếp mà không thu được khoản phí nào.
Thông tin này cũng từng được chính Lionel Messi hé lộ trong cuộc phỏng vấn với ký giả tờ La Vanguardia, Jordi Evole hồi tháng 12/2020. Anh cảm thấy bực bội, khó hiểu khi ban lãnh đạo đội bóng để Suarez ra đi theo cách như vậy.
“Tôi thấy thật điên khùng khi họ để Suarez ra đi như vậy. Anh ấy đến Atletico như thể chuyển nhượng tự do, khi mà Barca vẫn trả lương cho Suarez. Họ đã đưa anh ấy đến một đội bóng cạnh tranh chức vô địch với chính chúng tôi”, Messi nói.
Cũng theo Marca, thu nhập của Suarez sẽ còn tăng đáng kể. Bản hợp đồng anh ký với Atletico có điều khoản thưởng khi anh đạt mốc 15 bàn tại La Liga mùa này. Hiện cầu thủ người Uruguay có 11 bàn. Nếu Suarez chạm mốc 20 bàn, anh sẽ lại kích hoạt một điều khoản thưởng khác. Nhưng hiện chưa rõ Atletico sẽ trả toàn bộ khoản thưởng nói trên, hay Barca cũng phải tham gia chi trả.
Bán Suarez cho Atletico có thể là quyết định sai lầm nhất của ban lãnh đạo Barca. Không những bán đi đối tác cũng như người bạn thân của Lionel Messi, giới chóp bu của Barca còn trực tiếp tăng cường sức mạnh cho đối thủ.
Hậu quả là trong khi Barca quá phụ thuộc vào khả năng ghi bàn của Messi thì Suarez liên tục ghi bàn cho Atletico. Anh giúp CLB thành Madrid chiếm đỉnh bảng La Liga, hơn Barca tới 10 điểm dù còn một trận chưa đá. Suarez cũng cạnh tranh quyết liệt danh hiệu Vua phá lưới với Messi khi cả hai đang cùng có 11 bàn.
